Desde las montañas de Guerrero solicitan ayuda urgente a organismos ecologistas

ACTION NOW!! ALERT NOW!! ACTION NOW!!

This morning, I received a call from Evelio Bahena regarding the need for international support on the action taken by campesinos and townspeople in the State of Guerrero against several transnational mining companies who have been causing irreprable damage to the mountains, rivers and people in these communities in search of gold. See www.aureamining.com --the website of Aurea Mining Co that describes exploration by several companies in the "Gold Belt" in Guerrero.

Evelio also sent the following e-mail early this morning:

Evelio Bahena is a Mexican immigrant from Houston who has committed his life to fight for justice and democracy. Due to illness, he spends lengths of stays in his native Guerrero. Realizing the injury due to mining exploration, he along with others began to organize these communities to demand their rights and protect the Earth.
It is critical to offer help
