Thursdays afternoon, the Legitimate Cabinet headquarters halls on the third floor start to be covered with people coming from different places all over the country. They come to be part of the meetings that week by week The Secretary of Treasury convokes, in order for Mario Di Costanzo Armenta, person in charge, personally attends different subjects as part of the Government actions that this Secretary promotes.
ISA news service was present last Thursday to obtain a sample of what each week happens there. This time people coming from Baja California Sur, Estado de México, Puebla, Aguascalientes and from Mexico City attended.
Public Politics in economical matter of the Legitimate Government were explained and compared with those executed by the usurper government. In the same way, the bread “Mi General” was introduced, and other more alternative products made with soy bean and cacao. The Social Bank theme was exposed, a project that starts to yields fruits not only among the people of the city but also in different states of the country.
The Social Bank gathers, week by week, more people interested in this project, that is why we interview Mario Di Costanzo about this issue.
What is the Social Bank Project that your Secretary is implementing about?
We call it Social Bank, even though has its own bases in Ethical Bank, it has more adjectives that goes beyond the own Social Bank, for example, a Social Bank it’s understood like a non profitable Bank, or a board that is going to pay attention to certain part of the population witch regular banks would not be interested to attend. Ethical Bank is not rule by the size or the segment in the market that is looking for, it is true it is seeking for an economical profit, although its social compromise is highlighted as well as with the world, in our case, obviously, it’s approaching those groups that the commercial or regular bank is not attending.
Under that approach, what we do here on Thursdays afternoon is to give support to those groups of Ethical Bank that had already a tree years work, talk to them about our experiences, and lead to those who have productive projects so that they can be able to organize with the Ethical Bank that is already operating or with another Ethical Bank that they will develop in order to start to generate their own productive force.
What is the type of people who comes to the reunions?
Different type of people, medium and upper class persons who want to save, or even low class persons that bring their own productive projects. You can find students, independent professionals who are interested to organize themselves in order to develop projects.
What is the dynamic?
The people who come for the first time get an explanation about Ethical Bank, next, different projects are choosen from the ones selected week by week. Then we put together the people who want to develop any project with the people who is saving in Ethical Bank, and that is how these cell start to generate, I’ll say saving and developing projects, but there is more, the Secretary of Treasury of the Legitimate Government is thinking in new projects, other kind of work, besides Ethical Bank, because we have seen that it is necessary to strengthen the judicial frame of Ethical Bank. We are doing proposals and initiatives to present them to the Frente Amplio Progresista legislators in order to strengthen this part of Ethical Bank.
What are the results you have obtained?
We have obtained very interesting results, maybe the most important is the use of the biofertilizer project in some communities in the Distrito Federal. This project, is focus on generating fertilizer from garbage, this project was financially introduce by the Ethical Bank and presented to the Secretary of Economic Development of the D.F. Government, they liked this offer, and adopted it, and now is in process of elaboration in tree different zones of the city. This is a concrete result that we already had, and we are studying some other projects of traders groups.
In Puebla, for example, the same cell is generating there, in activities that have to do with recycle and improvement of the atmosphere and that is where we go for now.
And in a near future?
This Secretary has to open new projects, one that is very necessary is to inform people of what we are doing, but not only Mexicans, but the international public opinion. I believe that is very important that the international community gets inform about the reasons of existence of the Legitimate Government, to know all the proposals we are doing not only from my Secretary, but from all the cabinet. Abroad people does not know what we are doing and why we are doing it, I think is important to let know that in Mexico new things are taking place and no one knows what is happening here.
Mi secretary does not wish to stay alone with Social Bank project. We would like to develop a communication project dedicated outside the country for the World to get inform of what is going on in Mexico.
Why is this project you mention so important?
This economy pretended to be very human as some have proclaimed, is not so human, I am worry about this issue, and I’m worry about the inequality in the economy that exists in the country, but I’m very interested that people know about the abuses made to the reforms and laws that have been recently approved. A specific case is the ISSSTE law, an example where we can find how this law damages the workers, and I believe these are violations to the workers Human Rights. The Right to Security, welfare…. abuses are done to the most needed classes. I want that the whole World knows the only thing Legitimate Government of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador wishes to do is to develop a more human economy, in which Mexicans can be able to be a little more happy.
Does the Legitimate Government believe the social movement can be repressed?
Repression exists already. The informative fence is a way of repression, the opposition presence in the media is denied, and we are convinced that this repression will increase in the measure the social movement get strengthen.
Why?
Because the oligarchy in our country do not want to give absolutely nothing, they made a huge electoral fraud because they do not want to grant the power in democratic bases, in the ones they said they believe, everything is in appearance, and of course we are afraid that physical repression against the members of the group start to spread in order to try to stop the movement.
